Full speech by president Layhoon Chan:
“Today, January 10th, 2025, we embark on an exciting journey as we resume work on the Nou Mestalla after 15 years, marking an important chapter in the history of Valencia CF.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you who have joined us on this exciting project. Together with our esteemed colleagues, Fenwick Iribarren Architects and FCC Construcción, we are not simply building a stadium; we are creating a monument that embodies the pride of our fans and the spirit of our vibrant city.
Come summer 2027, this venue will become the beating heart of Valencianismo, a place for dreams and where we will set a new benchmark in sport, leisure and entertainment, welcoming 70,000 passionate fans with whom we will share our journey.
The Nou Mestalla is more than a stadium; it is a beacon of hope and ambition, vital to realising our medium and long-term aspirations, both on and off the pitch. Since my return to Valencia in 2022, I have embraced this project with unwavering dedication and am deeply honoured to be part of this transformative chapter.
Together, we are not just imagining a future, we are building it. There are many of us here working tirelessly, eager to take the next step. The Nou Mestalla represents the future of Valencia CF, and united in our commitment to growth, innovation and inspiration, we will create a legacy that will resonate for generations to come.
Welcome to the Nou Mestalla and Amunt Valencia!”
